News/Schedule Update

Just want to give you all a heads up on what the update schedule is going to look like for the next couple weeks. First off, no update today. I’ve been about a day and a half behind on my updates lately and I’m not able to catch back up to get on schedule. So I’m just going to skip Thursday this week and update on Monday.

After this however, I’m leaving for San Diego Comic Con on Wednesday the 21st and I wont be back until late Monday the next week. I’m going to try and take a lot of pictures and will post a big post-con blog post on Thursday. Then regular updates will resume on Monday, August 2nd. This will allow me plenty of time to get caught up and get some rest. Hope you don’t mind the little break, but I need it!

I will however try to do a ustream either tomorrow and/or Sunday (if I figure it out). I’ll keep you posted on that.

Further more if any of my artist friends, or artist fans would like to send in any Jackie Rose fan art I would be happy to post it up before I leave for San Diego and of course recognize you and your comic/website (if you have one). If you don’t get it to me before I leave, I will still post it after I get back. Just throwing that out there ;)

Tuesday Review

I would like to title today’s review, “Three Beards”. Because that’s how many you will have if you see these films.

First off let’s start with Predators. Now I was extremely skeptical about this movie when I first saw the trailer. In fact, I think I may have just shaken my head and cried a little bit. Frankly, there hasn’t been a truly good Predator movie since the first one. I sat through about forty minutes of AVP then changed the channel. This is a series that has been really… really bad as of late.

This however could also have been said about the Batman movies. Then Batman Begins came out and blew our minds. It was the best Batman movie of all time. It changed the face of the series.

Predators may or may not be better then the original (I’ll leave that up to you), but my gosh it is most certainly the Batman Begins of the Predator series. This movie is everything you could ever want from an Predator movie. Great actors, great action, suspense, a million bullets, and some of the most testosterone filled fights ever.

I’ve always admired Adrian Brodey, and he seriously brings the ruckus in this film. Along with the skull smashing action, there is plenty of laughs and even character development (believe it or not).

If you’ve been waiting for an awesome summer action movie, wait no longer, go see Predators!

Now. The next film is not out yet, but I… I mean I… you know what, just watch the trailer and admire your new beard.
